Olivia is an Iyengar yoga teacher based in North London. She is a dedicated yoga practitioner having maintained a daily practice for over ten years. Olivia’s teaching is full of energy and insight and encourages a balance between effort and relaxation, adapting yoga postures to suit individual needs.
As a teacher, it is her aim to help everyone to improve their yoga progressively in a safe and supportive environment.
Olivia initially started yoga 13 years ago to assist with lower back problems and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and found within a couple of years of regular yoga practice, the issues all but disappeared. Olivia continued to regularly practice yoga while pregnant with both her two children, and found it invaluable in assisting with recuperation from a caesarean birth.
Olivia completed her teacher training with Ros Bell, one of the UK’s most experienced Iyengar yoga teachers who holds an Senior Intermediate III Iyengar Yoga teaching certificate. She also attends regular advanced classes with Alaric Newcombe, who holds the same qualification, to improve her practice and understanding. Olivia qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2011 and is a member of the North East London Iyengar Yoga Institute.
Olivia has a BA in English Language & Literature and worked for ten years in advertising before directing her energy and focus on her family and yoga.
