Olivia is an Iyengar yoga teacher based in Muswell Hill, North London. She is a dedicated yoga practitioner having maintained a daily practice for over twenty years. Olivia’s teaching is full of energy and insight and encourages a balance between effort and relaxation, adapting yoga postures to suit individual needs.
As a teacher, it is her aim to help everyone to improve their yoga progressively in a safe and supportive environment.
Olivia initially started yoga 25 years ago to assist with lower back problems and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and found within a couple of years of regular yoga practice, the issues all but disappeared. Olivia continued to regularly practice yoga while pregnant with both her two children, and found it invaluable in assisting with recuperation from a caesarean birth.
Olivia qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2011, became a junior intermediate level 3 teacher in 2017 and is a member of the North East London Iyengar Yoga Institute. She has been to Pune, India to study with the Iyengar family a couple of times, and regularly attends yoga classes and workshops herself to continually improve her practice and teaching.
Olivia has a keen interest in yoga therapy and volunteers at a local Iyengar yoga therapy class as an assistant.
Olivia has a BA in English Language & Literature and worked for ten years in advertising before directing her energy and focus on her family and yoga.
